Severe Thunderstorms and Heavy Rainfall in the Southern Plains; Heat Continues in the West

Summer thunderstorm threat begins with a marginal risk of severe weather over central Montana today, spreading east on Wednesday. The potential for severe storms is highest south of the Missouri River during the evening hours, with strong outflow winds possible.
The full moon for June is known as the Strawberry Moon as wild strawberries are ripe and ready to be gathered. It will be the lowest full moon in the southern sky since 2006 and will be only 13 degrees above the horizon at its peak height between 1 am and 2 am.
